A lot of people mistake faith to be a blind belief in something. Something you believe with no reason. This is contrary to what the Bible teaches us. We are to examine ourselves and be knowledgeable about what we believe, and be ready to answer the questions people may have for us.
-The Bible tells us to “examine everything carefully” and to believe only that which is actually true (1 Thessalonians 5:21, Colossians 2:4).
-The Bible commends the people in the city of Berea for verifying that the words spoken by the apostle Paul were actually true (Acts 17:11).
-God desires that we use our minds and not just our hearts (Matthew 22:37). God says, “Come now, and let us reason together” (Isaiah 1:18).
-The Bible exhorts Christians to have answers for people with questions (1 Peter 3:15).
-God desires all people “to come to the knowledge of the truth” (1 Timothy 2:4).
If you would describe your faith as, “blind faith,” then I would encourage you to strengthen your faith by asking yourself why you believe what you believe is true. There is evidence in almost every direction you look!
